Performances are held at the Kiryu Karakuri Puppet Theater in the Arininkan.
The Kiryu Karakuri Puppet Theater is descended from Takeda Izumo's Karakuri Shows, which began in the early Edo period in the 2nd year of the Kanbun Era ( 1662 ). In 1894 ( 1894 ), the live puppet karakuri ningyoshibai of Ukinosuke Takeda of Asakusa Okuyama in Edo was performed at the Tenmangu Shrine Gokaicho. The atmosphere of Edo was disappearing in Tokyo in the Meiji era, and Kiryu was the place that embraced the vestige of this tradition. Each town council restored ・ and performed the "Karakuri Puppet Show" six times until 1961 ( (Heisei 11 ( 1999 )), when it was performed at the Tenmangu Shrine's Gokaicho.
